What is the Meaning of Short Run Printing? Is There a Minimum Order?
The Benefits of Short Run Printing
Fast Turn Around
The biggest benefit of short run printing is the speed. Short runs are fast and efficient while maintaining our high standard of quality(*1).
Whether you need a quick order of brochures, business cards or catalogues, there are short run options available.
Affordable
As technology advances, so does the efficiency of printing short runs – thus making it affordable. Get a fast quote for your custom DL printing online.
Quality
Digital printing in full colour offers exceptional quality. There is no need to worry about getting an inferior print quality in a short run.
Flexibility
In between runs, you can easily make changes to your design. If you find a certain colour set is received better – or you need to update a menu item, making changes is easy.
Minimum Orders for Short Run Printing
At the top of this page, you will see a range of drop-down boxes that correlate to different DL brochures. The difference between them is the number of pages in the booklets/brochures. As you will see, short runs start at just 10 copies so you do not need to commit to a large print run(*1).
A4 Folded to DL – What Size is This?
DL is 99mm x 210mm(*2).
If you can imagine a piece of A4 paper folded three times, this is the same size as DL. It is the perfect size to fit into a standard envelope.
When a DL brochure is opened it is the same size as two-thirds of an A4 piece of paper – totaling 198mm x 210mm. Keep this in mind when you are designing the layout of your DL booklet.
You are always welcome to contact us for graphic design help. Our in-house designers can take care of all your design needs including recommended specialty finishes.
Saddle Stitched or Stapled? Are They the Same?
Saddle stitching or saddle stapling is a common type of binding of books and other printed materials(*3). Books, magazines, catalogues, brochures, booklets, and more are often saddle stitched.
How is Saddle Stitching Done?
These days, saddle stitching in the print world is done by stitching/stapling machines. Essentially, all the pages are laid flat, stapled down the middle and then folded. The trick is to ensure the pages are printed and collated correctly so when the booklet is opened, the pages are in the correct order.
Saddle stitching is also known as stapling and ‘saddle iron wire stitching’(*3).
