Sydney business cards useful at large award ceremonies

This week saw the launch of the 2011 Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence at Waterview in Bicentennial Park, with the event shaping up as a perfect opportunity to do some vital face-to-face networking.

The awards have developed over the last 20 years to become the most prestigious of their type in the region.

Parramatta Chamber of Commerce president Trevor Oldfield told the audience: "These are genuine awards, not the result of a popularity contest. Judging is rigorous and this year's judges have been drawn from the 14 industry categories chosen to reflect the western Sydney business environment."

Ongoing events such as this provide a chance for business owners and managers to embrace what they do and show off their products, services or techniques.

But as well as competing for prizes, businesses should be aware that they are able to use this as a forum to compete for customers. Attending official program functions well-armed with professional, stylish and informative business cards Sydney could help you to make significant long-term industry contacts.

Major awards to be announced in October will include businesswoman of the year, young entrepreneur of the year and the highly-sought-after business of the year.

Free workshops for potential entrants will form a part of the awards and will be held at Parramatta College.

College president Paul Dillon stated: "Amazing Business Stories is the theme for this year's program. We believe that all businesses have an amazing story to be told."

"That's what makes a successful business great - the trials and tribulations, the ebb and flow of success built on cascading degrees of failure and success," said Dillon.

To truly 'tell the story' of a business, one cannot underestimate the power and public relations efficiency of business cards, flyers and posters that are circulated widely among potential clients.
