Sydney business cards give you the employment edge

Sydney business cards essential for job seeking

The number of job advertisements appearing online and in print publications has continued its downward trend - further highlighting the need for people to stand out from the crowd in an increasingly competitive market.

Total employment ads posted on the internet and in newspapers declined by 0.6 per cent in August, according to an ANZ report released on Monday (September 5).

The bank's chief economist Warren Hogan says this is the fourth decline in past five months and in the half-year period to August 2011 there was a total dip of 3.4 per cent.

"ANZ has recently reviewed its employment forecasts and expect the unemployment rate to continue to drift up to around 5.25 per cent to 5.5 per cent over the next 12 months," asserts Hogan.

With so many applicants - often just as qualified or experienced as you - fighting for relatively few positions, it is essential to provide prospective employers with a memorable point of difference setting you apart from the rest of the field.

Work opportunities do not only present themselves in the obvious mainstream forms - nor do they necessarily require a detailed resume or traditional sit-down interview.

There are often great opportunities to meet the right people out in the real world - such as at charity events, award nights, gala or open days and even social engagements.

You never know exactly who is going to turn up, but if you haven't brought along a professional business card then you run the risk of missing out on a golden chance to impress a potential contact or client.

Sydney business card printing can ensure you are always 100 per cent prepared for both scheduled and unexpected chances to promote yourself or the services you might offer as an independent contractor.
