Small firms 'should not underestimate' business cards'

Entrepreneurs can benefit from business cards

Start-up businesses and entrepreneurs should not underestimate the impact business cards can have on their networking success, one expert has asserted.

Benjamin Coleman of Origami Bonsai commented that he frequently attends networking functions where "it seems like the vast majority of small business people in the room don't have cards".

He added that this makes it difficult to network, as word of mouth information is quickly forgotten and other ways of sharing contact details "lack the power of a business card".

Mr Coleman urged small business owners to take initiative when it comes to building their brand, using their card to communicate their desired message in a clear way that reflects their organisation.

He explained: "My card not only tells people what I do, but it also tells people I am capable at it. It gives a clear message - 'I can help you with this'."

Small businesses owners who are unsure of where to begin when it comes to card design may wish to discuss their options with their Sydney printing service.

Some printers offer a complete design service - or will help you choose your own business card layout by providing you with a range of templates to select from.
