Green business tips for a better office

Eco-friendly business practices are great for the company and the environment too!

A number of simple tips could make the office environment more eco-friendly and sustainable.

Clive Davis, from UK-based recruitment company OfficeTeam, told the Wall Street Journal: "A lot of companies are now marketing their green credentials more to attract talent as potential employees now aspire to work for businesses that also promote their values."

Corporations may benefit from presenting an image of authority and positive business practices by using environmentally ethical materials to print reports and sourcing green business cards for their employees.

The current number of paper used by Australian offices is 2.4 million tonnes, according to figures published by Planet Ark and Pollinate.

Digital printing and alternative materials may have impacted the way in which businesses print documents in the office.

Minimising paper waste can be achieved in a number of ways, such as reusing paper, ensuring that there are sufficient paper bins and enforcing that all internal printing is limited and on recyclable paper.

Other tips for a green office include encouraging employees to walk to work, switching off electronic goods and banning items such as disposable plastic bottles.

Sydney businesses may also want to extend their commitment to a sustainable and greener environment by using a printing service that shares their green business practices.
