QR codes on business cards 'offer a wealth of information'

Many mobile phones can be used to read QR codes.

Quick response (QR) codes on business cards could be a useful way for professionals to communicate plenty of relevant information to a new or prospective contact.

Chiropractor Justin Snyder commented to Oklahoma-based NBC news channel KJRH that his QR code - which is featured on his business cards - allows his customers to 'unlock' a wealth of useful information when it is scanned with a QR reader app or a bar code app on a mobile phone.

This includes details such as the location of his office, the URL for his website, the practice's opening hours, reviews from patients, his phone number and, occasionally, special deals or offers.

Other QR codes can direct individuals to email addresses, calendar events or social media pages - they can be customised to suit the specific needs of your business.

About.me founder Tony Conrad recently remarked to Fox Business that QR codes can be an excellent icebreaker for jobseekers or individuals looking to make a career change, as these can give a prospective employer additional information about you before you go to an interview.

He also commented that using a QR code on your business card shows you have an understanding of emerging technology - an appealing trait of potential employees.
