Black Astrum releases world's most expensive business card

Would you put diamonds on your business card?

Gone are the days of power-dressing corporate women or men driving expensive cars - the new way to show people you have made it is with a diamond studded business card.

Black Astrum has set tongues wagging with its latest addition to the luxury goods market, by releasing an invitation signature card.

Influenced by their guiding philosophy which aims to cultivate taste and - more importantly - status, their latest concept project is worth a considerable amount for such a small item.

In other words the company has made the world's first business card to be valued at US $1,500 a piece.

And while some people may find this figure excessive, it seems that wealthy business men and Hollywood stars have been keen to snap up the luxury goods.

Each card comes with 30 karats of diamonds that are bound together with a thick Swiss metal.

Reports suggest that the lavish items were originally made for a high-profile family with residence in the Middle East - however, this may well prove to be mere hearsay.

Coming in sets of 25, 50 and 100 these handcrafted business cards - which are sure to require their own specialised printing services - bring new meaning to the word 'networking' and are sure to have an impact.

Exclusive as these cards may be, it seems that they are meant to be shared with possible contacts instead of simply held for safe keeping.

When writing on the company's website, representatives for Black Astrum were clear to point out the cards represented a philosophy rather than material object.

"Our small yet loyal team of craftsmen are dedicated to providing products befitting our members standing in society," they wrote.

The UK-based brand also said: "Our business cards are crafted to recognise this status and provide a product unique to the select few."
