Evolution of digital print industry discussed at expo

The future of digital printing will be the focus at this year's event.

Hamburg is currently hosting the annual FESPA Digital 2011 expo - a four-day global trade event for the screen, textile and digital printing industry.

The organisation provides a platform for printing services, suppliers and manufacturers to learn about industry-specific news and developments around the world.
FESPA is a not-for-profit group with members in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The organisers expect that by the end of the week, approximately 12,000 individuals will have attended the event.

The theme for this year’s exhibition is evolution - focusing on digital technology - and how the industry could utilise new developments in their existing services.

Manufacturers and suppliers of consumables, ink, finishing solutions and software are exhibiting at the event.

Seminars and guest speakers are scheduled through the week, with the interviews streaming live, allowing people who may have missed out to still have access to the talks.

Organisers this year have introduced the Digital Man icon to represent the event and have created a competition that aims to promote digital print technology.

Participants are invited to download and print the Digital Man and take a creative photo for the chance to win a HD camera or iPad.
