Financial advisers who wish to specialise in a specific area - including retirement planning - may wish to invest in new business cards to showcase their particular expertise.
This is according to Gerri Leder, who made the remarks during a panel discussion at the InvestmentNews 2011 Retirement Income Summit.
Ms Leder, who is the founder and president of LederMark Communications, remarked that if you have a special skill or area of interest, it is important to let your contacts and potential clients know.
She suggested that in addition to making a specialised focus such as retirement planning a prominent feature on your website, you may also wish to include this information on your business cards.
To further tailor your personal marketing campaign, she pointed out that you could even have two sets of business cards if you wish - one regular set and another that details specific skills, which you can give to individuals who meet your target market.
Business cards can also be a great gift if someone you know is starting out with a new business venture. While it may be wise to let the entrepreneur choose their own design, many printing services also have a number of templates to choose from, which could provide welcome inspiration to anyone who is stuck for ideas.
