Artist has unique business card strategy

An artist has come up with a unique business card strategy

One artist has shared his unique business card strategy, which he uses to promote his work and learn more about his contacts at the same time.

Pablo Solomon has opted to have sheets of cards printed, each showing a different sample of one of his works.

At any given function, he carries up to 30 different cards with him, each with details of his website stamped on the back. When someone asks for his card, he invites them to pick from the range of different artworks on offer.

"They usually take a moment to choose," he explained, adding that the system often proves to be an enjoyable icebreaker.

Mr Solomon added that their choice also allows him to get an idea of their interests - including colours, painting, sculpture or drawing.

He said: "I have a good amount of later inquiries and the clients tell me that they keep the card as a collectible."

About.me founder Tony Conrad recently asserted that creative professionals - including those working in architecture, graphic design or art - should showcase their skill set in their business card design.

He told Fox Business that cards that stand out - such as those featuring well-shot photography - are particularly important in creative industries.
